At around 5:50 pm yesterday, between the Yerevan metro stations of Gordzaranayin and Shengavit, the electric supply was suspended due to a break in (electrical) contact in the network. As a result, the subway temporarily ceased operations for approximately 30 minutes while necessary technical work was carried out.
The subway then resumed operations but only one side. Thus, passengers had to ride the train to the final stop or wait for it to come around again if they wanted to go in the opposite direction.
Since this morning, however, technical issues have been fully restored and the subway is operating as per usual.
Note, during the Armenian National Congress rally yesterday, Pan-Armenian National Movement (HHSh) party leader Aram Manukyan inferred that the subway disruption intended to reduce the flow of people to Liberty Square for the opposition rally.
