Russian President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on his birthday today during a phone conversation.
According to a press statement issued by the Armenian president’s office, the Russian leader also sent a message on the occasion, which reads as follows:
“Armenia, under your leadership, with certainty moves toward the building of statehood, socioeconomic reforms, and strengthening its positions in the international arena. The Republic of Armenia’s steady and gradual development is truly worthy of your reputation as a prestigious political figure.
“Your personal significant contribution to the task of developing an Armenian-Russian alliance inspires great respect. I appreciate the climate created during our regular and effective contacts, which contributes to a constructive discussion on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.
“I am convinced that the deepening of multi-plan, interstate ties, the bilateral disposition toward the development of economic cooperation, and the close coordination of regional associations are important factors in the further strengthening of the Armenian-Russian strategic partnership and the maintenance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus.”
Sargsyan turns 57 today.
