An agreement on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement is possible “if Azerbaijan removes the 10 amendments” proposed at the meeting in Kazan, said Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Yerevan today.
Talks between Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan and Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev, with the participation of Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, took place in Kazan on Jun. 24. However, no agreement could be reached. Armenia stated that this was due to amendments proposed by Azerbaijan.
Russian media reported today that Lavrov today conveyed Moscow’s proposals to the Armenian party, which Serzh Sargsyan has promised to study in the near future.
Today, the Russian foreign minister will pass on the same proposals to the Azerbaijani party in his meeting with officials in Baku today.
What exactly are Moscow’s proposals has not yet been reported.
