Margar Ohanyan’s Brother Not Yet Released from His Duties

Mushegh Ohanyan, head of the Nor Nork police division and brother of RA Traffic Police Chief, Colonel Margar Ohanyan (pictured, right), has not submitted a letter of resignation at this time, said Armen Malkhasyan, head of the public relations department at Yerevan’s Kentron (“central”) police station, speaking to Epress.am.

“We have no such information at this time,” he said.

Recall, Malkhasyan, speaking to reporters earlier today, did not provide any details regarding the Margar Ohanyan case, stating only that it is being examined by the RA Special Investigative Service.

As previously reported, Colonel Margar Ohanyan was arrested on Tuesday for abusing his authority and on suspicion of large-scale embezzlement. He is being charged under RA Criminal Code Article 308 Section 2 and Article 179 Section 3-1.
