Armenian Nuclear Power Plant Employees to Get a Pay Hike

Employees of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP or MNPP for Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant), who were demanding a 50% pay increase, yesterday met with RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsissyan to discuss the matter. As reported by the ministry on its official website, as a result of the talks, it was decided to raise the average salary of the plant’s operational staff by 10%. According to the ministry, the employees will return to work.

Note, the regular prophylactic work and refueling of Metsamor’s reactor that began on Sept. 11 has already been completed. A testing phase is currently underway, after which the nuclear power plant will be able to resume normal operations.
