An armored military vehicle, returning to the military base from training camp along the Kapan-Goris road, slid off the main road, flipped over on its right side and tumbled toward the road below at around 5 pm yesterday, said Meri Sargsyan, a representative of the Armenian defense ministry’s investigative service, speaking to Epress.am.
Senior armored military vehicle driver, senior lieutenant Aramayis Sargsyan was injured in the accident and died while on route to the nearest hospital in Goris.
The other three conscripts in the military vehicle having bodily injuries of varying degrees were taken to the RA Ministry of Defense’s Central Clinical Military Hospital.
According to the military hospital, the draftees’ lives are not in danger.
The RA Ministry of Defense investigative service has launched proceedings under charges of RA Criminal Code Article 377 Section 2 (“Breach of rules for driving or operating vehicles which negligently caused human death”).
