The Government of Armenia today approved the concept to reconstruct the main transit roads in Armenia, the main aim of which is to update the center of Armenia with the major highways linking with Georgia. For this, 4–5 years and 80–100 billion drams will be needed, which will be implemented with the assistance of foreign financial companies, through private-public partnership, and co-financing from the state budget.
The administration confirmed the outcome of the international open competition with a contract value of more than 581 million drams for repairing the Ddmashen-Zovaber-Hrazdan road (under the additional financing program to improve roads of vital significance funded by the World Bank), recognizing the winner to be Blesk company.
The work is expected to be completed by Sept. 2012.
