On the eve of Dec. 2, Gyumri resident Narek Davtyan, who was called to mandatory military service in Jun. 2011, committed suicide at the Vanadzor military base, reports the civic movement “We Won’t be Silent,” citing “reliable information” it received.
Members of the group, speaking to Epress.am, confirmed that the news has been “100% verified” as they have “reliable sources” in nearly all the military bases in the country.
“We Won’t be Silent” will be appealing to Supreme Commander of Armenia’s Armed Forces, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan with the demand to immediately establish law and order in the army.
