Armenia Police Arrest Georgian Citizen on Theft Charges

Members of the Criminal Investigations Unit of Armenia’s Police detained Georgian citizen Mikhail Muradashvili, 32, near the Grand Candy store in Yerevan’s Avan district at 8:05 pm on Jan. 13 on suspicion of theft.

The suspect confessed to committing robbery in Yerevan’s downtown (“Kentron”) district.

It later became known that at around 6:30 pm on Dec. 25, 2011, near building no. 6 on Tigran Mets Ave., Muradashvili stole from a 21-year-old girl a purse containing 75,000 drams and her mobile phone.

The victim had not contacted police. Police are attempting to find the suspect’s possible other victims.
