At 10 pm on Jan. 19, a march dedicated to the 5th year anniversary of the death of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink began in Dink’s hometown of Malatya in Turkey. Participating in the march were NGO representatives and individuals asking that the Turkish authorities hold a fair trial and find the real people who masterminded Dink’s assassination in Istanbul.
The nearly 1,000 marchers walked from Malatya’s central square to the city’s Armenian church, adjacent to which is the house in which Hrant Dink was born.
“As long as justice hasn’t prevailed, Dink’s murder case is not closed,” said march participants.
