The Government of Armenia, along with the Defense and Education and Science Ministries, is launching a new program aimed at working with every soldier in the army, said RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan at a government meeting today.
The kind of employment skills and desires every young man has after he completes his mandatory service should become clear during the implementation of the program, he said.
“This means that we are going to help military servicemen in the matter of his professional orientation and if a soldier wishes to continue their studies, the state will assist him, starting from when he’s in the army. There will be opportunities in the army for him to prepare for university admission, to continue his technical education at any institution, or gain employment experience toward a profession. The state will assist him in these three directions.
“This means that our families, sending their children to the army, will be at ease in this sense, that the state will assist servicemen in the task of solving the problem of their work or studies. This is a serious political decision, which will also change the environment, and our families sending their children to the army will be much more at ease knowing that the state will also ensure continued education for youth,” he said.
