Georgia today is an open country: there are great investments coming into Georgia from Azerbaijan and interest by Armenian businessmen has increased. Consequently, Georgia is that place where Armenian and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs do business together, said chair of the Tbilisi-based International Centre for Geopolitical Studies and former consul to Azerbaijan in Georgia Tengiz Phkaladze, discussing Georgia’s possible positive influence in resolving the Nagorno-Karabkah conflict and mediating Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
“When there are business interests, consequently, more opportunities arise. This is about not only cultural and ethnic ties and national diplomacy, but also furthering joint business interests. And when entrepreneurs have general interests, it always creates more opportunities,” he said, reports Vesti.az.
