A protest march on Mar. 15 in defense of public space will begin at 3 pm from Student Park in central Yerevan — as one of the more recent spaces that have fallen victim to big business. The march will go along Ring Park, Northern Avenue, Opera and will end at Mashtots Park.
“For years, city and state officials have seized public spaces and continue to estrange them in the interest of private interests. With the month-long protest in Mashtots Park the public shows that it knows its rights, assumes control of its public property and is prepared to save and liberate public property from private business. This is our priority public interest,” reads the statement by organizers.
