On Mar. 11, the municipality and youth from the Jermuk Development Center organized a snowman festival in the central Armenian resort town of Jermuk.
The organizers say that in expectation of warm spring weather, people from all over the province of Vayots Dzor had come to the town to bid farewell to the snow. The festival included a contest for the best snowman and best snowball, a variety of games, and even football. The ski lift was free for all visitors, whether they intended to ski or just ride the lift.
Uplifting everyone’s mood was the “snow grandmother” in a bikini and red cheeks soaking in the sun’s rays prepared by Yeghegnadzor high school students, which won second place in the contest. First place went to a huge smiling elephant “snowman”. The winning team was awarded an overnight stay in one of the best hotels in Jermuk, according to this news broadcast by Armenia’s Public TV.
