Newspaper Editor Leaves Post to Enter Parliamentary Race

Satik Seyranyan, editor of local daily 168 Zham (“168 Hours”), informed Epress.am earlier today that during the election campaign and afterwards she will be leaving her post as the paper’s editor.

“One way or another, I already wasn’t engaged and after being nominated, I more so won’t be engaged in editorial work, since I’m taking care of my two-month-old baby. Lilit Seyranyan will be dealing with 168 Zham’s editorial matters,” she said.

Recall, another local daily, Hraparak, had reported earlier that Satik Seyranyan intended to run in the parliamentary elections in Arabkir’s no. 4 electoral district.

As previously reported, another local journalist, Margarit Yesayan, will also be running in the May 6 parliamentary elections. She too has traded in her work in news media for the hopes of securing a seat in parliament.
