Armenian Justice Minister Lied About Vorotan Hydro Cascade Purchase: Newspaper

RA Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan, to put it mildly, lied on Feb. 5 when in parliament he said that the Vorotan Hydro Cascade sold only part — and not all — of its property, reports local daily Zhoghovurd.

The newspaper has at its disposal the purchase agreement of the hydro power plants, where it says that US company ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade acquired "the entire property owned by the seller with property rights, regardless of where they're located, whether they're mobile or stationary, whether they're endowed with two attributes, material or non-material."

The Vorotan Hydro Cascade complex is a series of three hydroelectric power plants totalling 405 megawatts on the Vorotan River in southern Armenia. The cascade is one of the largest and most flexible power generating facilities in Armenia and the Caucasus.
