Armenian Prosecutor General’s Father to Become Constitutional Court Member: Press

RA General Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan's father, President of the Court of First Instance of Shengavit Community of Yerevan Surik Kostanyan will be appointed as member of the RA Constitutional Court, reports local daily Haykakan Zhamanak, citing its sources. 

The newspaper reports that fighting for the chance to become a Constitutional Court member is also former justice minister and advisor to the Constitutional Court president Gevorg Danielyan, who is also a member of the Specialized Commission on Constitutional Amendments under the jurisdiction of the President of the Republic of Armenia.

There are two vacancies in the Constitutional Court, since judges Valeriy Poghosyan and Manuk Topuzyan will be leaving their positions, as they have reached the age of retirement.
