Armenian Ambassador to Germany, former MP with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashanktsutyun) faction Vahan Hovhannesyan's health has sharply declined, reports local daily Haykakan Zhamanak. He is currently in a hospital in Germany.
The newspaper's diplomatic sources say that Hovhannesyan's health deteriorated immediately after undergoing surgery. The proper authorities, however, are not rushing to officially confirm the news.
"Yesterday, when our correspondent called the Armenian Embassy in Germany, he was informed that it's not possible to speak with the ambassador, he is not in and he won't be for a week, and he is substituted by Chargé d'Affaires Ashot Smbatyan," reports the paper.
