Director of the Alishan cannery operating in Ararat marz (province) Serzhik Mosesyan intends to sue Gazprom Armenia, reports local daily Zhoghovurd.
Mosesyan's factory resumed operations after a six-month hiatus. The company had temporarily shut down after Gazprom Armenia demand 3.6 million AMD (about $8,850 USD) for the gas consumed; meanwhile, Mosesyan argues that the claim is illegal and, in fact, his factory did not consume the amount of gas attributed to it. Gazprom Armenia subsequently shut off the gas supply after non-payment.
"There are some problems; after resolving them, I definitely will go to court and demand compensation for damages incurred by the factory during the months it was not operating," said Mosesyan.
