Moscow is not ruling out the necessity of Customs Union member states in countering western sanctions against Russia, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“The Customs Union’s regulatory framework allows its participants to initiate joint steps of a commercial nature toward third countries who economically pressure Customs Union members. Nevertheless, presently the issue of implementing the latter actions has not been put on the CU’s agenda. We do not rule out, however, that such a necessity may emerge in the future,” said Lavrov when speaking to RIA Novosti news agency.
