The trial of the suspect in the murder of 7 members of the Avetisyan family, Russian soldier Valery Permyakov, will be convened at the Russian 102-nd military base’s military garrison court in Armenia, stated Interfax news, citing an inside source.
One of the site’s interviewees stated that such a decision was based on the inter-state agreement between Armenia and Russia regarding the status of the military base in Armenia. Another source revealed to Interfax that the two sides are coordinating charges in parallel based on Russian legislation, because the Avetisyan family murder’s criminal case is being investigated by both the Russian and Armenian side.
According to the source, the court will also examine the charge of deserting with a weapon put forward by Russian military investigators. “All the materials from the Armenian investigators will be transferred to Russian side to be attached to the other case materials,” noted the source.
