“On August 12, 2018, a fight broke out in a café near Vanadzor, in an area called “Lakes”, during which shootings were fired. Arshak, a participant to the fight, was forcibly taken to the police department and explanations were forcibly taken,” reports Helsniki Citizen’s Assembly Vanadzor human rights organization.
The organization has prepared a video material in which the relative of the victim speaks about the decades-old methods applied by police officers by which almost the entire police department had beaten Arshak up, humiliated him and forcibly taken his signature. After a few days Arshak was released, however continued being harassed by the police, who returned his passport but told him that he needed to leave Armenia and never come back.
