Sasna Tsrer armed group member Armen Bilyan, who on January 12 was transferred to the Convicts’ Hospital penitentiary after a 25-day hunger strike, needs an examination in a civilian hospital, Bilyan’s lawyer, Armine Fanyan, told Epress.am on Tuesday, stressing that she intended to to file a motion with the court with a corresponding request.
“The doctors at the penitentiary give no noteworthy assessments of his health state. In addition, the Convicts’ Hospital does not have the technical equipment to identify a number of health problems. We plan therefore to invite doctors from a civilian hospital to properly examine Bilyan,” Fanyan said. She added that Bilyan has already written a corresponding appeal to the management of the Convicts’ Hospital.
“The court has once let a dentist visit Pavlik Manukyan in prison, and Armen Bilyan needs the same examination. In addition, we plan to invite a neurologist. Bilyan has been undergoing rehabilitation for the past month, but his condition has yet to improve,” the lawyer said.
