The manipulation of the Karabakh issue for decades has served the means by which the illegitimate authorities of Armenia were maintaining their power. The criminal oligarchic regime of Robert Kocharyan and Serj Sargsyan had turned the issue of Karabakh to a belief in its own right through mass media and the educational system, which was unquestionable. They had discredited the negotiation process, had overshadowed the problems of people suffering from the conflict. Nikol Pashinyan, who has received the trust of the people through the Revolution of 2018 seemed to have adopted a different position on this issue: the return of Nagorno Karabakh Republic to the table of negotiations from which it was excluded grace to Pashinyan. However in his public address in a rally in Stepanakert on August 5, 2019, Pashinyan articulated the following phrase: “Artsakh is Armenia and that’s it!”
